WHAT IS COACHING?

Coaching is a learning partnership between a coach and client, with stated goals and objectives toward specific areas of development, learning or change. Much like sports, health, fitness and skills based coaching, it's all about helping you up your game! Coaching, which is not therapy, counseling or pure consulting, may address skills development, professional milestones and goals, or general situations in the client’s personal and professional life. A good coach will be a partner, advocate and encouragement to help you reach your full potential. 

WHAT IS YOUR COACHING STYLE?

My approach is authentic and genuinely engaging. As an advocate for my clients, I am a challenging collaborator and an objective thinking partner who digs in, draws on strengths and motivations, and help you clients achieve their work/life vision. 

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our sessions are usually either over the phone, via Skype, or in person and typically take place weekly in hour-long sessions. We'll design the optimal meeting schedule together based on your goals but a consistent and regular cadence is recommended. 

How long does coaching last?

Coaching engagements vary as it is a very individual process. Coaching is not an overnight deliverable but an ongoing partnership with stated goals and objectives toward specific areas of development, learning or change. To ensure maximum effectiveness and support of a clients needs over time, I recommend we start with a 3 or 6 month program. 

In many cases, what prompts people to first hire a coach is not always why they continue. Coaching relationships can also evolve and develop over time. What may be an initial coaching moment focused on a specific goal or milestone, might also develop into a career-long learning and development endeavor. It is not uncommon for coaching relationships to span the course of a person's career - whether as a constant resource or one you tap for key transitions, hurdles or opportunities.

HOW IS COACHING DIFFERENT FROM CONSULTING OR THERAPY?

Consulting is focused primarily on the outer world context (business/professional deliverables and projects). Counseling and Therapy address the inner world or inner person (emotional, mental, psychological). Coaching is effectively navigating the overlapping space and intersection of the inner and outer world contexts, and focused on learning and achievement of a specific personal or professional goal. 

WHO ARE YOUR TYPICAL CLIENTS?

My clients and their coaching goals are diverse. The one thing they all have in common is their interest in growth, development, learning or change. Some are new managers looking to establish their style and best leadership path; some are established executives looking to refine, enhance, or develop new skills. Other clients are seeking career development, promotion, or change and need help identifying and working through the steps to progress in that direction. Some may be dealing with an intentional or unintentional job transition, or are just feeling professionally unsatisfied and unsure of what to do next and how to proceed from there. 

Team Coaching clients are often groups of individuals who share a common purpose and vision but may be looking for ways to increase their effectiveness, productivity, alignment, communication, and have goals to increase their impact and value as a high performance team - with each other and various stakeholders. DO YOU HAVE DIFFERENT PROGRAMS FOR INDIVIDUALS VS. COMPANY-SPONSOREd CLIENTS?

Regardless of whether you’re an individual who has sought coaching independently, or if you're someone whose company (or manager) has invested in you and your talent development, all programs are designed collaboratively with my clients based on their intentions and goals. In cases where team coaching is the focus, my approach will differ from individual one-on-one coaching. Contact me to discuss the variation in these options further.

HOW MUCH DOES COACHING COST?

Fees for coaching depend on the program length and type of engagement. To ensure maximum effectiveness and support of the client's needs over time while making progress toward goals, a 3 month minimum program is recommended. Contact me to discuss further and explore options that best suit your needs.

WHAT ARE YOUR PR/COMMUNICATIONS CONSULTING SERVICES?

Particular areas of expertise include executive communications, media training, corporate, brand, reputation and crisis communications, messaging, positioning and narrative development. This has become quite valuable for some of my coaching clients seeking a hybrid approach due to heavy corporate demands. 

WHAT ARE YOUR CONSULTING FEES?

Consulting fees may vary based on the depth and type of work but generally speaking, we’ll agree on either a project-based fee or an hourly rate based on the nature of the work. 

DO YOU EVER WORK WITH OTHER COACHES? 

Yes, because I truly believe in the value of coaching, if either of us feels we're not a good fit, I'll be happy to refer you to another trusted and respected coach in my network.

AS A CAREER COACH, DO YOU ALSO HELP CLIENTS WITH RECRUITING NEEDS?

As a career coach, my job is to help you realize your full potential, help you identify and embrace your strengths, and set you on a course to reach your goal of personal and professional fulfillment. I am not a recruiter, HR practitioner or job placement professional but the work we will do together will serve as a solid foundation for achieving your goals. If I do happen to have an appropriate contact in my network that might serve as this resource for you, I'll be happy to make that referral but my focus is on coaching.
